Weddings I attended
Below a list of weddings that I attended during my life.
Although I have tried to make this list as complete as
possible, I know that I have missed some. From some marriage
I know that I attended them, but cannot find the details
anymore.
In the Netherlands it is not possible to get married in
a church. You can only get married a civil servant of the
municipal government. These marriage ceremonials usually
take place at a town hall. Many people also ask for
a blessing during a wedding service at a church. Although
these ceremonies usually take place on the same day, it
is not required by law. Below, I have only mentioned
those parts of the wedding ceremonies that I attended.
There is also a tradition that the couple selects a verse
from the Bible, which they consider as their marriage
scripture. This verse is then also used during the
church service.
For reasons of privacy, I only have mentioned the first
names of the couple that got married.
My parents, my sister Gerda and I attended the reception.
We stayed till around ten o'clock in the evening.

Friday, January 23, 1981: Paul and ?
The church services was in the afternoon in the Bonavatura
church in Woerden, which I did not attent, the reception
was in the "Wilhelmina hoeven". I brought a
very short
visit (Dutch).
Wednesday, November 24, 1981: Evert-Jan and Jannie
The feast was held in the evening.
Friday, May 13, 1983: Robert and Yvonne
The church service was held at the Zuiderkerk in Aalten
and started at 19:30.
The reception was held in restaurant "Erve Kots" in Lievelde
from 20:30 till 22:30.

Friday, August 26, 1983: Wouter and Annet
The church service was held at the Hervomde Kerk in Gorsel
and started at 19:30.
The reception was held on the ship "De Houtwal" in Gorsel
from 20:30 till 23:00.

The church service was held at the R.K. Kerk in Brummen
and started at 19:00.

The church service was held at the "Samen op Weg" kapel in Duiven

and started at 18:45.

Friday, September 6, 1985: Paul and Yolanda
They were married at 14:30 at the townhall of Almelo.
The church service was held at the Baptistengemeente in Almelo
and started at 19:00.
The reception was held at restaurant "'t Maatveld" in Almelo
from 20:30 till 22:00.

September 23, 1985: Jan-Willen and Erika
(I attended this wedding together with my parents.)
June 13, 1986: Peter and Marjolein
The church service was held in the Sint Jans Kathedraal in
's-Hertogenbosch and started at 16:00.
The reception was held in "Het Oude Veerhuis" in Ammerzoden
from 19:30 till 20:30.
Friday, August 7, 1987: Hugo and José
They were married at 13:45 at the townhall of Woerden.
The church service was held at the Bonaventurakerk in Woerden
and started at 14:30.

November 11, 1988: Ronald and Roelie
They were married at 14:30 at the townhall of Enschede.
The church service was held in the gereformeerde Eudokiakerk in
Enschede and started at 19:00.
The reception was held in restaurant "Vrieler" in Enschede
from 20:15 till 23:00.

I was invited for the whole day.
The were married at the townhall of Barneveld.
The church service was held in the Evangelische Gemeente "De Ark"
in Nijkerk and started at 18:45.
The reception was held in restaurant "De Mandenmaaker" in
Spakenburg from 20:30 till 22:30.

Thursday, July 23, 1992: Nico-Jan and Saskia
They were married at 14:30 at the townhall of Scherpenzeel.
The church service was held in the Hervormde/Gereformeerde
Kerk "De Achterhoek" in Scherpenzeel and started at 19:30.
The reception was in restaurant "Boschzicht".

They were married at 14:00 at the townhall of Havelte.
The church service was at 18:30 at the Nederlands-Hervormde Kerk
in Havelte. The reception was held in restaurant "De Linthorst".

This was the first Dutch wedding that
Li-Xia attended.
July 22, 1993: Michael and Karin
The church service was held in Evangelische Gemeente Enschede.

Friday, September 9, 1993: Ronald and Marjan
The church service was held in the Evangelische Gemeente Enschede
and started at 15:00.
The reception was held at restaurant Hoogspel in Ambt Delden
from 17:00 till 19:00.

We got married at 13:15 at the townhall of Enschede.
The church service was at 19:00 at the Evangelische Gemeente
Enschede.
The reception was held in the restaurant "De Assinkhof" in Enschede
from 20:30 till 23:30.

February 18, 1994: Eric and Karin
The church service was held in "De Kandelaar" in Holten
and started at 19:00.
The reception was held in the same place from 20:30 till 22:00.
Marriage scripture: Genesis 2:18.
April 8, 1994: Egbert and Hélène
The church service was held in "De Schuilplaats" in Enschede
and started at 19:00.
The reception was held in restaurant "De Anninkhof" in Reckum
from 20:30 till 23:30.
They were married at 13:00 at the townhall of Den Ham.
The church service was held in the Hervormde Kerk in Vroomshoop
and started at 18:30.
The reception was held in restaurant Tebberman in Vroomshoop
from 20:00 till 22:30.
Marriage scripture: Romans 11:36.
We were invited for the whole day. This was also the
first weding that Annabel attended.
Friday, April 18, 1997: René and Els
The church service was held in the St. Jozef kerk in Enschede
and started at 12:00.
The reception was held in restaurant "De Assinkhof" in Enschede starting at 19:30.
June 20, 1997: Peter and Els
The church service was held in "De Schuilplaats" in Enschede
and started at 18:30. The reception was held in
"Het Wapen van Beckum"
starting at 20:00. Marriage scripture: Hebrews 4:16.
The church service was held in the Evangelische Gemeente Enschede
and started at 15:00. The reception was held afterwards in the church.
Marriage scripture: Psalm 139:24.
I attended the wedding together with Annabel.
The wedding was held in the town hall of Enschede and started on
14:00. At 18:00 there was a reception in the restaurant
Haarmühle
in Alstate.
October 2, 2002: Erwin and Rian
The church service was held in the Evangelische Gemeente Enschede
and started at 15:00. Because they are in the church group I am
leading, I had the privledge to hand them the marriage bible which
was offered by the church. The reception was held afterwards in the church.

September 1, 2003: Walther and Victoria
The wedding was held in the town hall of Leiden and started on
15:00. Afterwards we were taken by boat to restaurant
De Poort van Leyden
where the reception was held. I stayed till around ten o'clock
in the evening.
They had their wedding at 13:00 in the town hall in Enschede.
We only went to the celebration at 20:30 in the evening in
"De Jaargetijden". We attended with the whole family and stayed
till a quarter to ten.
June 28, 2004: Gert Jan and Liliana
I only went to the reception which was held at 17:00 in
"De Assinkhof" in Enschede.
The church service was held in the Evangelische Gemeente Enschede
and started at 17:30. Linda surprised everyone with singing a song
to Arjan right after they exchanged rings. A small reception was held
afterwards in the church. I attended the services together with
Annabel. Afterwards, we took three of the
heart shaped balloons home. Marriage scripture was Proverbs 3:6.
July 8, 2004: David and Karin
The church services was held in the Evangelische Gemeente Enschede
and started at 19:00. Marriage scripture was John 15:1-8. I attended
this service on my own.
The cermony started at 14:00 in the Hölterhof and was followed by a reception with English Tea
from 15:00 till 18:00.
April 15, 2005: Kim and Anneke
The church service was held in the Evangelische Gemeente Enschede
and started at 19:00. Marriage scripture was Lamentations 3:25.
Li-Xia and I attended this service. Afterwards the party was held
in "Het Wapen van Beckum".
June 4, 2005: Peter and Janine
I only went to the reception which started at 20:30 and was
held in 't Hagen.
I met one of Andy's former
physiotherapists.
We were not able to attend the church service, but went to
the reception with the three of us (Li-Xia, Annabel and I)
which was held in Restaurant Paviljoen 't Lutterzand.
August 13, 2005: Peter and Anne Marie
The church service was held in the Evangelische Gemeente Enschede
and started at 13:30. Li-Xia went to it. I arrive about an hour
later with Andy and stayed in the back of the church. Then it still
took almost an hour before the service was over. Afterwards we
congratulated them.
August 25, 2005: Thijs and Hanneke
The church service was held in the Evangelische Gemeente Enschede
and started at 18:30. Marriage scripture was Romans 11:36. I went
their alone. I did not attend the reception afterwards and did not
have the opportunity to congratulate them.
June 23, 2005: Thijs and Mieke
The church service was held in the Evangelische Gemeente Enschede
and started at 17:30. Annabel joined
in a short dance that was performed during the service.
May 18, 2007: Tjeerd and Thirsa
The church service was held in the Evangelische Gemeente Enschede
and started at 19:00. Annabel and
I went to it. Afterwards we were invited to join the reception at
't Hagen in Haaksbergen.
Annabel had a great time with the other girls and we stayed till
the end.
July 10, 2013: Paul and Cocky
The wedding ceremony was held in Paviljoen Puur and started at 15:00. The reception, the dinner
and the party were held at the same location. I went there together
with Annabel. We stayed till the
end.
August 28, 2015: Ted and Sonja
The church service was held in the Evangelische Gemeente Enschede
and started at 14:00. I had to leave after 40 minutes due to other
responsabilities.
September 28, 2018: Jeffrey and Jolitha
Annabel and I attended the party starting
at 20:00.
The wedding ceremony started at noon.
